S.T.A.R. Program Statistical Information

S.T.A.R. Programs' statistics over the last three school years (2011-2012, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014), include:

  • Students receiving a "Courtesy Intervention" from a S.T.A.R. Drill Instructor: 10,428
  • Students attending a one day, "Prevent Day" S.T.A.R. Program: 2841
  • Students attending a Two Week to 30 Day S.T.A.R. Program: 2606
  • Students enrolled in and having received services from S.T.A.R. (12 Programs): 6017

During the 2013-2014 school year statistics are as follows (Please note that these statistics are based on the information provided):

  • Absences before and after averaged between six programs:
    • S.T.A.R. II:
      Before-1243 After-215
      83% Reduction of absences
    • S.T.A.R. III:
      Before-121 After-36
      70% Reduction of absences
    • S.T.A.R. IV:
      Before-134 After-28
      79% Reduction of absences
  • GPA increases for both passing and failing grades averaged between four programs, S.T.A.R. II and III students only:
    • S.T.A.R. II and III students passing:
      2.92% Increase in GPA
    • S.T.A.R. II and III students failing:
      16.39% increase in GPA

During the 2012-2103 school year statistics are as follows (Please note that the statistics are based on the information provided):

  • Absences before and after averaged between five programs:
    • S.T.A.R. II:
      Before-525 After-92
      99.83% Reduction of absences
    • S.T.A.R. III:
      Before-75 After-58
      23% Reduction of absences
    • S.T.A.R. IV:
      Before-110 After-38
      66% Reduction of absences
  • GPA increases for both passing and failing grades averaged between four programs, S.T.A.R. II and III students only:
    • S.T.A.R. II and III students passing:
      5.37% Increase in GPA
    • S.T.A.R. II and III students failing:
      19.92% Increase in GPA
