The S.T.A.R. Program
Our program is used by schools and juvenile Judges as an alternative to suspension, expulsion and
detention, as well as other more expensive and less effective disciplinary tools. As our Mission Statement clearly sets forth, the S.T.A.R. program utilizes the structure of a military style drill and excercise program as a means to instill self-discipline in an individual and improve academic performance.
Students placed in the Student Transition And Recovery Program attend their normal classes within their regular schools and return home each evening. In the morning before school and in the afternoon after school, students participate in excercises, counseling, tutoring and military-style drills.
Throughout the school day S.T.A.R. Instructors check on the students in their classes and during lunch to ensure
"S.T.A.R., when implemented correctly, is a major weapon in addressing behavioral problems for both adults and
juveniles. "--The Honorable Olen Underwood, 284th District Court Judge, Montgomery County, Texas.
