Information for Parents Parents Wanting to Place their
Child in S.T.A.R.: Unfortunately, our programs can only service students who live
in the participating school district or county. To find out if your community has S.T.A.R. call your school and ask. We currently
operate programs in Texas, Georgia, New York, Pennsylvania, and Alabama.
If you would like to bring S.T.A.R. to your community, contact your local School Board, School Superintendant, or Juvenile Justice
representative and ask them to bring S.T.A.R. to your community.
If you are looking for a program similar to S.T.A.R., but there is not one in your area, contact your local Juvenile Probation
Department (this county agency may also be called the Department of Juvenile Services) and ask if there is a local program they can
recommend.
Parents of S.T.A.R. Students: You can contact your local S.T.A.R. Program coordinator by calling your child's school and
asking for the S.T.A.R. Office.
While your child is in S.T.A.R. and for at leat a few days following, ensure your child drinks plenty of water and eats
appropriately.
